Creature from the Black Lagoon.

Tagline: Not since the beginning of time has the world beheld terror like this!

Plot Outline: A scientific expedition traveling up the Amazon River encounter a dangerous humanoid amphibious fish creature.

Released in 1954 this is said to be one of the greatest horror movies ever made. Originally shot in 3D it's a classic story of beauty and the beast. Rieu Browning plays the Gill Man, dressed in a green gilled rubber suit.

Terror lurks in the waters of the Black Lagoon. "I can tell you something about this place. The boys around here call it The Black Lagoon. Only they say nobody has ever come back alive to prove it."

What makes the Black Lagoon so terrifying? The creature who inhabits it's murky waters, lying in wait for an innocent young girl to dare enter.

One Amazon reviewer had this to say about the creature: "Unlike the other rubber-suit monsters in B-grade horror flicks from the 1950s, the eponymous monster in this film does actually look real and frightening. Especially scary are the close-up shots of the creature when he is out of the water. Gasping for air, his mouth opens and closes in short spasms as the fins on his gills gesticulate in a parallel rhythm, and he quite convincingly comes across as a giant mutant fish with nothing but most malevolent of intentions."

Rather campy by today's standards but it is available on DVD through Amazon. Great for those who enjoy a good monster movie.

Trolls

BILLY-GOATS GRUFF

ONCE on a time there were three Billy-goats, who were to go up to the hill-side to make themselves fat, and the name of all three was "Gruff."
On the way up was a bridge over a burn they had to cross; and under the bridge lived a great ugly Troll, with eyes as big as saucers, and a nose as long as a poker.
So first of all came the youngest billy-goat Gruff to cross the bridge.
"Trip, trap! trip, trap!" went the bridge.
"WHO'S THAT tripping over my bridge?" roared the Troll.
"Oh, it is only I, the tiniest billy-goat Gruff; and I'm going up to the hill-side to make myself fat," said the billy-goat, with such a small voice.
"Now, I'm coming, to gobble you up," said the Troll.
"Oh, no! pray don't take me. I'm too little, that I am," said the billy-goat; "wait a bit till the second billy-goat Gruff comes, he's much bigger."

That was then. Today we have the Internet Troll. The troll's playground has come out from under the bridge to invade newsgroups, message boards, listserves, and weblogs. One troll description from Wikipedia says about Weblogs: "Weblogs — in their most common form as a personal soapbox with the ability for anybody to leave comments, popular weblogs often make effective springboards for trolls, either as inflammatory comments or provocative entries. The ease with which weblogs can be linked encourages troll propagation." I've had my share of troll postings...thank heavens for comment moderation, the modern day equivalent of spears and curling-stones.

Why?

Why do fans of one contestant from American Idol feel threatened by the fans of another contestant? Why, once the competition is over, do they not just focus their energy on supporting their chosen singer? Why is there not room for more than one singer in their life? Do their CD collections consist of only one artist? Only one genre of music? Why do some think that they have to put down one artist to support another? Is American Idol(19) to blame? Are they the ones fostering the competition after each season?

Why is it so difficult to take someone at their word? Why do some think they know what's best for someone else? Who set them up as judge and jury? Why are some so naive they believe any thing they hear? Why don't people do their homework? Why don't they have better fact checkers? Why is it easier to believe something bad about another person that it is to believe something good? Why do some think they are always right? Why are some so close minded they can't see the forest for the trees? Why is the silent majority so silent? Why don't they speak up?

Why do some people tell lies? What is it in their makeup that makes them do that? Why can't some people admit when they are wrong? What's so bad about that? Why do some people need to get their 15 minutes of fame at another persons expense? What do they get out of it? Why do some people make threats against other people? Does it make them feel important?

Why do some people feel so superior when they put other people down? Why do they call them names? Why haven't they grown up? Why do some people love to stir the turd?

Why is anyone's private life anyone else's business? Why does anyone think they have the right to tell another how to live their life? What happened to the golden rule?

Who wants to try and answer my questions?

There have been quite a few threats meant to intimidate thrown out there this week. Both the written and verbal kind. Written on blogs and verbal by making phone calls. Well guess what. It's not working. We're not scared and we won't be intimidated. So fire away. Sooner or later you'll run out of ammunition.

Irony

As a group, fans of Clay Aiken have been accused of being obsessed with him. It's been said we devote all our time, energy and money supporting and defending him to the determent of our jobs, families and real life. We've been called names to vile for me to repeat here. For the past three years we have been disparaged, belittled and denigrated.

So where is the irony you ask.

The irony lies with those doing the attacking. As an example, one blogger has spent the past five months writing two, three, sometimes four blogs a day doing nothing but defaming us and the guy we support. To me, that smacks of obsession - albeit the negative side of obsession. He scours the Internet day after day for information and photographs of fans. He is not alone. He has been joined by other obsessed haters who have been only too happy to help with the attacks.

The best part of this? They don't see the irony. They don't see their own obsession.

In the words of H. W. Fowler: "Irony is a form of utterance that postulates a double audience, consisting of one party that hearing shall hear and shall not understand, and another party that, when more is meant than meets the ear, is aware, both of that “more” and of the outsider’s incomprehension. "

Apology

Yesterday, MSNBC broke a story about an apology to Clay Aiken from someone who has spent the past 5 months running an Internet smear campaign against Mr. Aiken and his fans. Referring back to when the aplogee first contacted them, National Enquirer editor David Perel told The Scoop “Our reporter couldn’t get him off the phone.” The tabloid type media that picked up the first story has picked up the "apology" story. One referred to the apologee as "fame-mongering".

Fame-mongering? Of course, rumors that a brand new single from Clay Aiken is about to drop have nothing to do with the timing of this "apology". The anticipated press release from RCA unveiling this new CD's drop date has nothing to do with the "apology" either. Right? None of us fans could possibly think that this "apology" was just another ploy in the campaign to smear Clay Aiken's good name. Right?

Beets

About beets:

It's almost impossible to grow a good beet in clay. Hard clay soils prevent root enlargement. Beets thrive in cool weather and can tolerate a light frost but not scorching heat. Garden beets must not be grown within several miles of a sugar-beets lest the two kinds become cross-pollinated, a condition ruining the purity of the seed of one or both kinds. Beet colors range from extremely dark purplish red to bright vermilion and to white.

The Sugar Beet is grown commercially for sugar production. Beet sugar accounts for 30% of the world's sugar production. Sugar beet plants are susceptible to rhizomania ("root madness").

Root beets are susceptible to Flea beetles, the Beet Webworm, Aphids, and the Beet Armyworm. When using a pesticide always follow cautions, warnings and directions.

Beets can be canned or pickled. Beets can be served in a salad with radish. Very small "baby" beets—radish-size immature roots that have been pulled to thin the farmer's rows—are a delicacy.

Good vs. evil

Look closely at the word below. What do you see?

In black you can read the word GOOD, in white the word EVIL. Take away the GOOD and what are you left with?

Some think ignoring evil and sweeping it under the rug will make it go away. History proves that wrong. Evil has been with us as far back as Biblical times. I believe the only way to fight evil is to expose it for what it really is and bring it out into the light.

The Clay Nation

So many have tried to define Clay Aiken's fan base by creating a neat box labeled middle aged, fat, white, conservative, Christian and female. Nothing could be further from the truth. Just go to one of his concerts and take a good look around. You will see children, teenagers, and adults of all ages with both sexes represented in every category.

Spend some time on the message boards dedicated to Clay and you'll find high schoolers, college students, working adults, stay-at-home moms and retired folk all coming together because of this young man. The USA, Canada, Malaysia, the UK, Venezuela, New Zealand and Australia are just some of the countries where we live. We are Christian, Jewish, Buddhist, agnostic, atheist and other religions. We are white collar and blue collar. We are doctors, nurses, lawyers, paralegals, teachers, students, law enforcement, writers, IT professionals, clerical, military, management, office personal and factory workers. We are short, tall, thin, not so thin, male and female. We come in all shapes, sizes, colors and ages. Some of us are conservative, some liberal, some right wing, some left wing and some right smack in the middle. Some of us can get a bit bawdy at times and some cringe at the very idea.

The one thing we all have in common, the one thing that keeps us all together is that we love a cute, red haired, freckle faced singer guy. That's the only label that fits every one of us.

Trashing Clay

How sad that three years later these people are still spewing hatred for Clay and his fans and have found a new outlet for spreading their lies and false accusations. All of these emails can be found on the BOI board. Playing the race card three years ago didn't work then and it won't work now.

This almost leads me to believe that those close to Ruben know she faked these stories and it was her way of waving and saying, "Hey! It's me!" Just scroll down the page until you hit the lightblue high-lighted text.

Another interesting thing to note is that if you do a Google search based on the results for Ruben Studdard and the name "Jaysen" the only thing that even appears is three results. Two that lead to the Jaysen Miller stories and one that leads right to Angelic Isis.

I know that all seems like conjecture but if you read this page fully I will be providing information directly from the horse's mouth.

There is a secret Ruben Studdard message board. One that you need to be a member to access. I have access to information posted on this board through a Ruben fan who has become a close friend of mine. She has become dejected by the level of fighting. There will be no peace coming from this board no matter what they try to feed you. In fact, even Ruben's mother has decided peace is not an option and has asked this group to continue fighting on Ruben's behalf.

That, my friends, is a link to their "banner". I think it speaks volumes for what they are capable of and how they really feel. Of course it is hosted on another site, which you can research yourself. This is the banner they use to giggle and scoff about each and every time they log on.

This board will offer you many forums to choose from, including a forum devoted entirely to Fred Bronson and his support of Clay. Of course no thread in there will talk about support in any way other than what sexual positions he and Clay might prefer were they ever to hook up, but it's there. They bash on the Clayboard, Bolt, RedHotTopic. They bash everyone they can get their hands on. Even past Ruben "insiders" are open for assault. Only the special few inside are exempt from their abuse. They formulate fake letter writing campaigns and mock Clay fans with every turn of their head.

They talk about their fake accounts on all of these boards. Who they are when they go in and what they say. They swap around these screennames in an effort to throw people off their trail.

Anyone who has dealt with them and has been cast aside, like my friend, will know I speak the truth.

As well, for Angel, Emach and the group, please check your own backyard. You've hurt a lot of people -- even Ruben's fans themselves -- and it's no surprise someone turned you out. Invoke a small amount of kindness and understanding and maybe these folks won't feel the need to forward around your private information. I'm not the only one who has seen this with my own eyes, many have.

That said, here is the information I am bringing to you. It needs to be out.

Make up your own minds.

Ok,

I need one of our regular super militants to take the blame. I prefer Bone, because of her eloquent writing style. They can't go after Johnnie because she is never on Bolt anymore....so my idea is this:

Bone goes and posts on the Clay board, 'confessing' who she really is. She'll just say that she 'borrowed' my name not knowing that I (angel) had posted something in Ruben's guestbook. She'll say that she wrote the rebuttal because she has an opinion, and she'd do it again regardless of what they think. Etc. etc.

I was going to do that anyway. But Angel, they don't really seem to be discussing it on Bolt. The theory that a Ruben fan, a.k.a. Angel has not even been brought up. As of now they just think it is a jealous person. When I looked this morning on Bolt, there were a Beavorsidol thread but only three respondents. This seems to be more of an issue with some of the other Clay boards. The bolt babes right now are too entrenched in their get out the Clay requests prompted by Dancermom's post. Also, not sure if you are aware of it but Raleighlady will be writing a rebuttal focusing on Ruben fans because it was bought to her attention by someone posting your post that it was a known Ruben fan who wrote it. Someone even on That's The Clay suggested you be called out on it and that your post be sent to beavorsidol.com in an attempt to portray you as a fraud. Got this off that That's The Clay message board. Other than not giving your real name, I am sorry I don't see what the problem here is. The bitches are just looking for ways to distract from the truth. So I don't know, perhaps it will be better played out in a rebuttal to Raleighlady's rebuttal. But again, they're not talking about it on Bolt. Now if someone wants to bring it up? .

Girls, put your heads together and let's think on this real seriously. But I have no problem putting it out there that it is me, either on the Clay messages boards or even on beavorsidol.com. My question still is, so what if it's a Ruben fan? Are our opinions not worth listening to?

I get your point, but those Bolt babes have their own secret meeting place much like we do, and remember the old adage that when you don't hear anything...be suspicious. Just because they aren't talking about it on Bolt just lets me know that they are revving it up somewhere else. I still think that you should type it up and cut and paste it on each and every board. That way they KNOW that you are covering your bases. I just want you to start with Bolt for personal reasons. I have friends there, and don't want them to cut me off from my information sources. I.E. sherry9, llama, etc.

After you post it, then the other Ruben soldiers will come to your defense and state that why can't Ruben fans have opinions, blah blah blah....it'll be world war 3 on the Bolt boards today.

Now there can be something to worry about if they can trace emails. I know AOL is impossible to trace and there is another one but can't remember it. In the war of the Bee Gees fan clubs, one fan club would actually hack into the other fan club's website on a regular basis. They signed them up for porn sites and any other spam. Just about anything you can do to someone with their email address and ISP number, they did it! Since these people are getting more and more insane, I would not be surprised to see them do these kinds of things. Just be prepared!

Identity fraud

Creating a false identity on the Internet is easy. I did it yesterday when I posted as Friends Of Clay in a comment here on this blog. All I had to do what type in the Friends Of Clay name and copy and paste the URL for their blog, then hit the post button. Voila - it made it look like Friends Of Clay posted on my blog when in actual fact it was me.

Look at the My Space profiles. There were so many pseudo Clay Aiken and Kelly Clarkson profiles on line one didn't know which, if any, were real. Many young people were tricked into believing they were actually talking to either Clay or Kelly. All the Clay Aiken profiles have since been removed and there is now only one legitimate Kelly Clarkson profile.

As long as you have a valid email address, you can create any Yahoo identity you'd like. No one checks and no proof is required. The same is true for most of the meet up/hook up sites on line. No one asks to see your drivers license for proof you are who you say you are.

Identity fraud occurs when a false identity or someone else’s identity is used. It's happened to a few of us who post here or on the Friends Of Clay blog and on the Clay Aiken message boards. Our names have been stolen and used on some gossip blogs to make some rather nasty statements thereby making those of us whose identities were fraudulently used look bad.

When you see an identity being used that doesn't fit with what you know about a person, chances are excellent that identity fraud has occurred.

When the subject is opinion, your truth may be different than my truth and this is where honesty comes into play.

It is not coincidential that I would be here today. Couple of hours ago or so I was talking to a REAL Clay fan whom I consider a real friend and whom I have agreed to disagree on many topics (not just Clay) and she told me how my name is being dragged at some Clay's friend blog and how I'm being blamed for a lot of what's going on at John Paulus blog. Unfortunately I can't avoid that. They need a fall guy(s) and I'm going to be one for them for as long as I live. I only want to say one thing, and I could care less whether you believe me or not, truth is I never hid to say that I always believed Clay was gay. I never hid from saying he was a manipulator and that his fans were blindly following a fantasy and I also said from day one that his fans would be the cause of his downfall because the way they decided to promote him. Promoting, loving, following and embracing his art and talent was not a problem. As fans of any artists we do that anyway, but what I found to be a problem was the way the fandom adopted the attitude that nobody else BUT Clay was worth being into the entertainment biz. Whereas it may have been just a rabid fraction of the fandom as a whole or not, they did and said some vile things attacking not only Ruben sites and fans as well as any other artists coming from AI that may have represented a perceived threat to Clay. They undermined, denigraded, belittled and ridiculed others and set out to prove a point. Avenging the "slight" of AI and 19E became a goal. When a little ol'group of Ruben fans set out to show the "best" or "creme of the crop" of the Aiken fandom it was meant to show what they were capable of. It is one thing to support an artist, another to do it with a vindictive heart. We didn't have to go too far to harvest our proof. It was harvested out their own extensive crop of vile threads, racist remarks and thoughts, hateful comments found at THEIR OWN sites and from ours as they would come and "grace" us with their vile. Remember Michael Nozzi from Bolt? The biggest fan ever. The very same one claymates worshipped at Bolt? Well, we unmasked him as the racist poster, who would've "thunk" huh? Like his, many more posts were "harvested" and YES, presented as proof. We did sent a few emails to DJs making them aware of their plans to bombard them with hate mail for "dissing" Clay and ALWAYS sent them WRITTEN proof. We never made up stories. It was DOCUMENTED in black and white (no pun intended) and the same was done with ANY emails sent because we knew we would be accused of making up stuff. Even then, they denied what was obvious. So, they can spin everything they want to. They can deny and paint themselves as martyrs, but those outside their bubble are very aware of who they are. Oh, and sorry but NO! we did NOT call anyone on the phone, NOR did we embarked in a SMEAR campaign. That's YOUR spin. Blame me or my sistahs all you want. I'm not interested in engaging any of your sorry souls anymore. I KNOW what you are capable of and I admit you are one scary bunch whom I want no part of.

Clay is pretty much a non-issue for me at this point. His own actions speak for themselves and HIS OWN FANS are finally seeing the light. It wasn't about being Gay, it was about the lies and the holier-than-thou attitude. Am I glad this is all out in the open now? YES, and thus the reason I don't give a rats ass anymore. As I predicted long time ago his fans finally did him in. I did wanted to set the record straight (for all it's worth) and to ask you to find another scapegoat. This one is dead and can't carry anyone's blame no more. I was hoping you would realize by now that you DO have more "haters" (as you call those of us who speak the truth you refused to hear) among Clay fans themselves than you care to admit. If anything, John Paulus provided an outlet for those who for so long have been silenced and banned from their own sites for speaking up. Those are the real fans of Clay. They love him, but are not blinded . Now they have a place to speak and I hope they remain anonymous because I shudder just thinking what can be done to them by the mutts. Sad.

The inspiration for this blog came from a post I read on the Official Fan Club message board. It was a story about Clay changing a lyric in Don't Save It All For Christmas Day (2004 Lowell, Massachusetts Joyful Noise) because there was a young woman in the front row who appeared to be very ill and dying. Instead of singing "some people are dying", as he walked over towards her he sang "some people are trying". The person who posted the story asked " I wonder how many other special private favours occur..that go totally unnoticed by all but those who they are meant for."

Here are just a few more heart tugging Clay Aiken stories we've learned about.

Timber Lake West Summer 2003

On a day off from the American Idol 2 Tour, while the other idols were frolicking on a beach, Clay snuck in a visit to Camp Timber Lake West in Roscoe, NY. The youngsters were having their talent show, and Clay was the surprise guest.

Harlem, NY October 22, 2003

"Clay made a stop on Good Morning America not knowing why he was there. He was in New York doing an educational function with schools’ reading programs. Charlie and Diane surprised him by bringing out Clive Davis, who then presented a Double Platinum Album for Measure of a Man. Clive said it was the first time he had ever presented that within that time frame. Clay was shocked and obviously very grateful. But when he left the studio, he went and did his real mission for that day, which was to read to the children at a Harlem school."

Darien Lake, NY - Darien Lake Six Flags 7/30/05

"My friend in Detroit was visiting with her daughter in Buffalo and they went to Darien Lake to the park, not to see Clay in concert, because they weren't great fans of his, well anyway, her daughter and husband were riding the roller coaster and my friend stayed behind with her grandson who has multiple sirosis and can just scream when happy, well Clay came off of the roller coaster and went straight to her grandson and knelt and held his hand and the boy just squeeled with delight, my friend said Clay spent at least 5 minutes with him, so now my friend and her family just love Clay and also bought tickets to his concert that night and loved him, so he has 4 new fans."

You're a Good Man, Clay Aiken Atlantic City, NJ

8/31/05 & 9/1/05
"Clay Aiken wowed 'em again in Atlantic City over the weekend, playing to two sold-out shows at Caesar's Palace. The shows were shortened due to union rules, eliminating his opening act, Cherie and providing his fans with 1-1/2 hours of "pure Clay."

Friday night's audience was treated to a particularly sweet moment when six-year-old John Martin of Yeadon, PA was chosen to perform with Clay in a duet of "This is the Night." Little John was at the concert as a guest of the Make-A-Wish Foundation, his wish being to sing with Clay. From what I hear, there wasn't a dry eye in the house as this little boy had the thrill of his short lifetime, singing with Clay onstage.

What many people don't know is that Clay's people had promised to tape the performance as a keepsake for John and his family. But somehow the segment did not get taped and when Clay found out he generously offered to have John come back the next day during the sound checks and do it all over again just so he could have it on tape. Additionally, Clay paid for the family's hotel stay and limousine. He also gave them tickets to the Saturday night show. The taping was a success and the family was thrilled to be able to see Clay again that night. "

Critically ill fan attends Clay Aiken Concert

"I watched from the hill where we were parked and we all saw Clay walk through the rain to go to the ambulance."

"Just returned from a visit with the marvelous MotherSuperior at her home. I went with my dear Broadly friend, Lorelei, who came out from Oregon to see the show.

"Okay, Honey, give us the scoop!"

With a Chesire cat's grin, she slowwwwly spun her tale as we leaned forward hanging on her every word. This momentous unfolding was interrupted by a very nice young priest who came to give her communion. We briefed him on the story to which he replied, " Oh, yeah, that guy, I just love country music!"

"No , you're thinking of Chet Atkins, or Clay Walker- this is the American Idol guy"

"The winner you mean?'

"No, but , well, yeah......"

A lovely man.

Here's how she got to meet Clay very briefly. Between her hospice people , the Wolftrap people and the EMT outfit who brought her there , and her wonderful children, the right connections were made.

She was so amazed by all the kind people coming up to her during the show, including Faye who asked, " Are you Mother Superior? Our church has been praying for you, too."

After the show, and people were cleared out, including hangers on like us, kinda hoping to see Clay, Mary directed the ambulance to the back of the theater up against the exit.

According to MS, a handsome prince with wet plastered down hair, green "sparkly" eyes, in blue plaid jammie bottoms and a dark blue tee shirt bounded into the ambulance.

He said, " I understand you went through a lot to get here" and he appreciated it. She told him it was a great show and how much she enjoyed it.

He said that he enjoyed himself , too and really appreciated the compliment. He also told her to come backstage again when he comes back next time. This was accompanied by a handshake ("big paw") and a hug. He smelled like fresh laundry, too.

Then the princess in the "pumpkin" had to go home."

Sadly, the princess left this earth on Nov 21, 2005

What Would Jesus Do?

Some people have a talent for putting their thoughts into words so eloquent and descriptive they paint pictures in your mind. Not me. I just stumble along, my brain going from one disjointed thought to another. But give me paint and a brush, or a graphics program and I can create beauty.

The last 5 months, for a lot of us, have been a nightmare. I got to thinking about Clay's WWJD bracelet this morning. What would Jesus do? How has Clay managed to rise above the vile and vicious attacks made upon him? How have we, the fans who love him, managed to stay strong against the vicious attacks made upon us. Those two questions led me to look for answers in Bible quotes and got me to thinking how could I avoid turning this blog into a sermon and still convey my feelings. Somewhere from deep in the back of my mind my favorite poem pushed it's way into my consciousness and I found my answers.

Footprints in the Sand

One night I dreamed I was walking along the beach with the Lord. Many scenes from my life flashed across the sky.

In each scene I noticed footprints in the sand. Sometimes there were two sets of footprints, other times there was one only.

This bothered me because I noticed that during the low periods of my life, when I was suffering from anguish, sorrow or defeat, I could see only one set of footprints, so I said to the Lord,

“You promised me Lord,that if I followed you, you would walk with me always. But I have noticed that during the most trying periods of my life there has only been one set of footprints in the sand. Why, when I needed you most, have you not been there for me?”
