Clay Aiken: Movin' On

Remember the Jaded Journalist inteviews Clay Aiken did when on Season 2. He was quick witted, snarky, funny, intelligent, had a sharp tongue and when he spoke, he spoke his mind. Quite a few of his fans love his personality as much as they love his singing. Some don't. He's pretty much kept quiet while he was under contract but now, six years later Clay is finally free to say what he thinks.

Clay started a Question & Answer thread on his fan club message board and responded to a question about AI, Kris Allen, Adam Lambert and the current finale. Since his answer was made public you can read the unedited version at CANN. Evidently there is one "fan" who does not respect the terms that state what is said at the fan club stays at the fan club. Shame on her and her lack of respect for the other fan club members.

Two comments from CANN that I want to highlight:

"Wow! When Clay Aiken talks, everyone listens!!!"

"Isn’t it amazing how Clay saying he was glad Kris Allen won was twisted and spun into reporting Clay said he was glad Adam lost. So many have proved they don’t comprehend what they read."

Remember the Clay buzz after the AI5 finale? Once again Clay is tied into AI and usurping their coverage. I'm alternating between laughing my ass off and saying Oh shit, now what.

Update:

Adam Lambert's Ring of Fire

It is rather ironic that Clay Aiken just states an opinion that many others already have and now it's big news!

Yep, that's our Clay! He speaks his mind and people listen.

Love the man, love the talent. He is truly one of a kind and I wouldn't change one thing about him.

It is so true....When Clay Aiken says something EVERYONE listens, comments and pays attention to the point that bloggers are going crazy putting Clay's name out there once again! American Idol just finished it's 8th season??? Really?? Who would know with all the attention paid to Season Two's Clay Aiken! His words echo what so many have been saying this whole season and for a few past seasons. Idol is just a slick production and the judges have become irrelevant. They can count themselves responsible for Kris' winning out over their favorite. Once the public is pushed too far, they start pushing back. Kris' win is a resounding rejection of the American Idol machine. America votes, and America has spoken. And so has Clay Aiken...and, once again, so eloquently and honestly.

The truth sometimes hurts doesn't it? Love Clay Aiken's blunt honesty. He was on the show, he can speak to it because of his first hand knowledge of how AI operates. They pimped Adam over all the other contestants. No diss to Adam, just fact. Shame on AI and YEAH for Clay speaking his mind.

Clay Aiken rocks! Great blog :)

I respect his opinion, and he has every right to give one.

The blatent twisting and changing of his words, not to mention stealing from his private site, is unbelievable. I'll never understand the mentality of so many people.

I wasn't going to bother watching the finale because I thought I knew Adam would be crowned the winner. Criminal Minds looked like it would be too intense for me so I did wind up watching.

When Kris was announced as the winner, Simon's expression was priceless. He was stunned. Sucker went on air the next day comparing Kris to a puppy. Such a nice guy. Yeah, the judges were pimping Adam ALL season long.

It's always the same with Clay. Every little thing he does makes news. Can't say I blame them for wanting to know about him. Just wish they'd show him more respect.

Honestly - can't people read anymore. If they would, then they'd find out Clay didn't dish Adam - he just didn't like the song he heard. And honestly - the way the judges swooned over Adam - it was disgusting - actually made me vote - and yes - it was against someone and not for.

I love a guy that speaks his mind. Clay Aiken is a hoot. By the way, I agree with his synopsis of AI. They need to try to buy a clue before next year.

It's amazing to get all these google alerts because Clay Aiken answered a fan's question and gave his opinion on HIS own fanclub board. Simon said basically the same thing about Adam's performance of Ring of Fire, so why is there so much bluster about Clay's opinion? It wasn't anything personal against Adam, just an opinion on the performance! Also, IMO, Clay is spot on in his remarks about American Idol.

Truth,

Very classy of Clay Aiken to apologize for expressing his opinion in a blog to his own fan club.

His descriptions of the focus of American Idol, a contestant's tone quality and singing style, etc., had actually been stated by others earlier. But then they weren't Clay Aiken!

Thnx for helping to set the record straight. Have a great weekend!

Sometimes Clay is his own worst enemy. I love him but I wish Clay would concentrate on his singing career. I am waiting for the news on the new record label, new music and a tour.

Very interesting how Clay Aiken is always the King of Controversy. Even when what he says is the same thing the media outlets have said, it seems to be upsetting and offensive when Clay says it. Why?? Why does anyone care about his opinion so much. His opinion should matter not!! I think his fans who now like Adam instead wanted Clay to love him as they do to validate their feelings for Adam in some way. When he did not do this, it enraged some of his own fans who like Adam. How dare Clay have an opinion??!! The poor man never gets a break, not even from his very own fans. I am very glad that he spoke his mind and I like and agree with what he said. Anyone who watches RoF has to find it a bit odd. So what's the big deal???? I don't know, but I love Clay Aiken for speaking his mind even if it upsets some. He has every right to do so on HIS OWN fansite in his OWN blog. That is what one is entitled to do one one's blog. Go Clay.
