Heart Prints

Some people come into our lives and quickly go.
Some stay for awhile and leave footprints on our hearts.
And we are never, ever the same. --Anonymous

The inspiration for this blog came from a post I read on the Official Fan Club message board. It was a story about Clay changing a lyric in Don't Save It All For Christmas Day (2004 Lowell, Massachusetts Joyful Noise) because there was a young woman in the front row who appeared to be very ill and dying. Instead of singing "some people are dying", as he walked over towards her he sang "some people are trying". The person who posted the story asked " I wonder how many other special private favours occur..that go totally unnoticed by all but those who they are meant for."

Here are just a few more heart tugging Clay Aiken stories we've learned about.

Timber Lake West Summer 2003

On a day off from the American Idol 2 Tour, while the other idols were frolicking on a beach, Clay snuck in a visit to Camp Timber Lake West in Roscoe, NY. The youngsters were having their talent show, and Clay was the surprise guest.

Harlem, NY October 22, 2003

"Clay made a stop on Good Morning America not knowing why he was there. He was in New York doing an educational function with schools’ reading programs. Charlie and Diane surprised him by bringing out Clive Davis, who then presented a Double Platinum Album for Measure of a Man. Clive said it was the first time he had ever presented that within that time frame. Clay was shocked and obviously very grateful. But when he left the studio, he went and did his real mission for that day, which was to read to the children at a Harlem school."

Darien Lake, NY - Darien Lake Six Flags 7/30/05

"My friend in Detroit was visiting with her daughter in Buffalo and they went to Darien Lake to the park, not to see Clay in concert, because they weren't great fans of his, well anyway, her daughter and husband were riding the roller coaster and my friend stayed behind with her grandson who has multiple sirosis and can just scream when happy, well Clay came off of the roller coaster and went straight to her grandson and knelt and held his hand and the boy just squeeled with delight, my friend said Clay spent at least 5 minutes with him, so now my friend and her family just love Clay and also bought tickets to his concert that night and loved him, so he has 4 new fans."

You're a Good Man, Clay Aiken Atlantic City, NJ

8/31/05 & 9/1/05
"Clay Aiken wowed 'em again in Atlantic City over the weekend, playing to two sold-out shows at Caesar's Palace. The shows were shortened due to union rules, eliminating his opening act, Cherie and providing his fans with 1-1/2 hours of "pure Clay."

Friday night's audience was treated to a particularly sweet moment when six-year-old John Martin of Yeadon, PA was chosen to perform with Clay in a duet of "This is the Night." Little John was at the concert as a guest of the Make-A-Wish Foundation, his wish being to sing with Clay. From what I hear, there wasn't a dry eye in the house as this little boy had the thrill of his short lifetime, singing with Clay onstage.

What many people don't know is that Clay's people had promised to tape the performance as a keepsake for John and his family. But somehow the segment did not get taped and when Clay found out he generously offered to have John come back the next day during the sound checks and do it all over again just so he could have it on tape. Additionally, Clay paid for the family's hotel stay and limousine. He also gave them tickets to the Saturday night show. The taping was a success and the family was thrilled to be able to see Clay again that night. "

Critically ill fan attends Clay Aiken Concert

"I watched from the hill where we were parked and we all saw Clay walk through the rain to go to the ambulance."

"Just returned from a visit with the marvelous MotherSuperior at her home. I went with my dear Broadly friend, Lorelei, who came out from Oregon to see the show.

"Okay, Honey, give us the scoop!"

With a Chesire cat's grin, she slowwwwly spun her tale as we leaned forward hanging on her every word. This momentous unfolding was interrupted by a very nice young priest who came to give her communion. We briefed him on the story to which he replied, " Oh, yeah, that guy, I just love country music!"

"No , you're thinking of Chet Atkins, or Clay Walker- this is the American Idol guy"

"The winner you mean?'

"No, but , well, yeah......"

A lovely man.

Here's how she got to meet Clay very briefly. Between her hospice people , the Wolftrap people and the EMT outfit who brought her there , and her wonderful children, the right connections were made.

She was so amazed by all the kind people coming up to her during the show, including Faye who asked, " Are you Mother Superior? Our church has been praying for you, too."

After the show, and people were cleared out, including hangers on like us, kinda hoping to see Clay, Mary directed the ambulance to the back of the theater up against the exit.

According to MS, a handsome prince with wet plastered down hair, green "sparkly" eyes, in blue plaid jammie bottoms and a dark blue tee shirt bounded into the ambulance.

He said, " I understand you went through a lot to get here" and he appreciated it. She told him it was a great show and how much she enjoyed it.

He said that he enjoyed himself , too and really appreciated the compliment. He also told her to come backstage again when he comes back next time. This was accompanied by a handshake ("big paw") and a hug. He smelled like fresh laundry, too.

Then the princess in the "pumpkin" had to go home."

Sadly, the princess left this earth on Nov 21, 2005

"Clay Aiken sings a special Bluegrass song, Oh Beautiful Star of Bethlehem, to his grandfather during the Raleigh 2005 Joyful Noise Tour. This was a one performance only song - a special Christmas gift for his grandfather. Video by Aflack"

What a great blog, Truth! These special little anecdotes seem almost too sacrosanct to share with the world. As fans, we have heard these stories from the beginning of Clay's career and is one of the reasons we say, "We came for the voice, but stayed for the man."

What a truly wonderful and beautiful man he is. How dare anyone attempt to defame and smear his reputation. I can only think of one thing: "It is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God."

Truth - wonderful blog!! It's reasons like these that we Clay fans are staying right where we are!!

I love hearing all the stories about the good things that Clay does just because he wants to, not because he has to or to create a photo op.

Oh and JP - take it somewhere else, cause no one here gives a rat's behind what you think!

Thank you Truth, my patience is running thin with that asshat.

He can't hold a candle to the wonderful heart and soul that Clay has. I am sure reading this blog makes him feel like the shithead he really is and he has to spew more of his arrogance to make himself feel better.

Guess what, asshat, you deserve every hatefilled message you get.

I came here today to be able to lose a few minutes in reading happy things about Clay...asshat destroys everything he touches.

What a scum.

Sorry, truth, for being rude, I'm just not in the mood to deal with that prick.

I'm excited, guys! I was just over at the Clay Blog and she has a link to Youtube for MGUCL.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zgypWdAdRZg

As I watched, especially in the beginning when Clay's eyes are closed, downcast, and his face is full camera, I thought this video was taped on the morning of Dec. 5th, before Clay and crew left for Boston. I paused the video and went into my pic file and found the webcam pic, allegedly taken on the 5th. Then I switched back and forth between the two and there is NO MATCH!! The hair color, the style, the eyebrows, the length of the neck and definitely the EARS...they do not match! I've always known that, but it was great to see it. I wish I knew how to put the two side-by-side.

I called my grandson and switched back and forth between the two and asked him if he thought that was the same person. He said, "Heck no!" An unbiased opinion! lol

Could someone else try it and tell me I'm not crazy?

On Dec. 5th, Matt Ehlers, Staff Writer for the News and Observer was with Clay riding on his tour bus from New York City to Boston. He was there with Clay Tuesday morning at the Learning Project Elementary School in Boston and still with him Tuesday evening at the Boston show.

http://www.newsobserver.com/697/story/379369.html

Oh, and Matt Ehlers is the journalist stalker boy said he had an interview with - another one that never made it into print. Wonder why.

Why do you suppose the little "dumass" would think that we'd miss the Matt Ehlers/Boston connection? I remember laughing my everlovin' middle-aged fat butt off at that Boston Webcam fiasco because it was such a blatant lie with us knowing that Ehlers was with him 24/7 and we knew Clay had balked at going out all night to partay with Quiana, Angela, et al and he caved in and went anyway
Haha...I love it

"Dumass" didn't do his homework and didn't know about the Matt Ehlers story until he was told after the fact. It became an even bigger issue at PH when an alledged reporter by the name of Marc Newsome posted and claimed to have contacted Matt Ehlers and verified that Matt could not be an "alibi" for Clay during the stay in Boston. Newsome also claimed that after his own 3 week investigation he found no evidence to support the claims of Claymates that there were "holes in JP's story large enough to drive a truck through." He concluded that he would not be conducting his own investigation, due to lack of evidence, and therefore JP's story would stand as is.

The investigation of Mr. Newsome revealed no paper trail of any kind; no known media person could be found by that name, and one could only wonder why Groucho or anyone involved in this story would need an "alibi."

On another subject, you guys sure were active last night at the cess pool and beat me up pretty badly. LMAO. Even I, while sleep walking, posted several times under my message board s/n. Now I'm a little worried. One person said they believed "with all their heart" that I am Adam and Leon!

C'mon guys! Don't expose me like that! You remember what the job of Truth Rules and FOC is here, don't you? Homeland Security wants this kept hush-hush. Let me remind you, this is hugh!! We're talking the Dept. of Defense, the F.B.I., the C.I.A. and American Idol!! Someone will pay big time and it won't be us!

Polly, I'm just going to change your name to Sybil what with all your multiple personalities. :)

I'm surprised that stalker boy didn't set them straight. (No pun intended.) He has spoken to Adam and knows he's a guy. I'm not certain if he's spoken to Leon - didn't Leon say stalker boy was afraid of him.

For anyone who missed the last PSA I'll repeat it. "Insider" over there is none other than Groucho.

You guys, the way I see it, we are dealing with some people who are not intellectually honest. I've heard many people tell the pickle that they were willing to listen to him in the beginning. But as things have progressed, it's gone from bad to worse.

I know for a fact, and Pickle should know this as well, that I have NEVER attacked him or called him or anyone names. Nor do I swear. I don't do that toward anyone. The previous posts under my s/n profile on the boards where I post would verify that.

Whenever I've spoken to him, directly, he's been respectful to me and I to him. But his board is a free for all, bash fest. He's not like PH, who blogs and then disappears. JP sticks around and participates, but then does nothing to control his posters nor the discussion. He knows lies are being spread. He knows WE are not posting on his blog, yet he allows the bashing to continue. He loses credibility in my eyes as a result, not that he cares.

The people at his blog have chosen Clay to rag on, just to get the fans reaction. They take every word and every mention of Clay and turn it around, ON PURPOSE, then lie and laugh about it. Of course, they're trying to rile up the fans and to hurt us. They want us to get angry and fight back. This is why I say they are dishonest and unfair, especially when they try to convince us that they have given us a place to come and discuss Clay openly and freely. Yeah, as long as you rag on Clay along with them. What a joke!
