Photo chopping

LONDON - The Reuters news agency said Monday it has cut its ties with a Beirut-based freelance photographer who it found had manipulated two photographs from the ongoing fighting in Lebanon. It also removed all 920 pictures by the photographer from its database. Altered images prompt photographer’s firing

Even the LA Times Director of Photography was fooled. L.A. Times Photographer Fired Over Altered Image So for all those swearing that photoshopping doesn't happen, you are so wrong.

'Charlotte Observer' Photographer Fired for Doctoring Picture “Accuracy is among our most sacred journalistic values,” Thames wrote in the editorial. “That goes for the photographs, as well as the words, that we publish.”

"The National Enquirer, despite recent excesses, did not invent faked photographs." And this was before Photoshopping made it easy. Positive/Negative

Things that make you go hmmmmmmm. Perhaps photoshopping for certain purposes should be against the law.

I think they are thousands of these photos around. They get much easier with today's software.

I think several were used and forged with our guy.

A few weeks ago one of the entertainment shows had the covers of two different magazines with the same photo side by side. On the one cover the girls chest had been enlarged. Same exact photo, just one had obviously been doctored.

Photo manipulation is the norm in advertising.. Photographed models are airbrushed, made thinner even have their legs "stretched" and yes, chests enhanced.
They can knock a few years of celebs,or make them look like hell,whichever..whatever illusion is required.

Yes, but those pics of Yorke/Clay weren't designed to advertize; they were designed to hint at a scandal that didn't exist.

Those Yorke pics were specific falsified to ruin CA, period.

Fake is fake no matter how you dress up the description of the photos/web shots.

What is telling of WHO and WHAT was done was pickle-puss himself saying Yorke was Clay!
Don't think that we forgot about that!

That's why we are so driven about the defense of OMC and to show the truth.

Outsiders don't get it, but we do!

Apparently I was unclear,sorry.
I meant that photo manip is the norm ,done everyday to make the subject appear as required by the photographer etc.
Hasn't everyone gotten emails with photoshopped pics??They are passed around the internet and usually wind up debunked as phony.
It certainly is no stretch of the imagination to believe that the webcam pics are also fakes.

People love to perpetrate these frauds.Remember the pics that were all over the net during the last election?? Bush reading a book upside down...Kerry with Jane Fonda??Fakes...people do it all the time and some are very convincing,some.. not so much.

Remember the picture of Simon, Paula and Randy on the cover of Rolling Stone? Well, Simon was actually in London when the photo was taken and he was photoshopped into the picture.

The webcams of Clay are extremely amateurish. In the torso shots, one has straight, black chest hair and the other has curly, blond chest hair. Well, which one is it? They both can't be Clay, not unless he's coloring and perming his chest hair. Of course, neither is Clay as he's never weighed that much, and it's a totally different body type.

That's why those who believe the webcams are real are pathetic. Some of the believers are actually haters who know the pictures are doctored. The rest are just stupid.

Buddy has taken his case to the court of public opinion because even he knows he has nothing that will stand up in court.

In case you hear the name, Armistead Maupin, formerly of NC, is a flamboyant gay outing activist.

I already read the Maupin story. I doubt he knows Clay Aiken at all. At least the editors had enough sense to put a disclaimer after that comment.

Getting kind of tired of the crap Clay has to endure from people who know absolutely nothing about him.

I'd like to congratulate these militant gay activists on changing my liberal views regarding their causes completely around. Now, instead of supporting them I only want to see them disappear into oblivion...never to be heard from again.

I have a feeling I'm not alone and many others like me are just as disgusted with their antics.

My previous liberal views have also changed with regards to these so called gay avtivists. I am appalled and sickened by them. I hate that I feel this way now---but I do. I agree with you 100%. Thank you Truth Rules for your candid comments.

Truth Rules, I expressed an opinion pretty close to that in one of your old blogs. These people have absolutely made be do a complete turnaround. I will never again support any kind of gay rights. That's just how far they've turned me and it's sad because there are people I care for that are gay and this is none of their doing. However, some people take their rights and abuse them which includes everyday people, every race, every religion and in every profession.. like opportunistic attorneys who lack ethics. It's just that the gay community seems to make it a team effort to do as much damage as possible on innocent people.

If they went after assholes, I probably wouldn't be so upset but I don't recall Clay doing anything to anybody, nor for that matter Lance Bass.

Truth, I must agree with you on this. I have been so angry at these people for trying to do this. What is the point of making so many enemies, even amoung gays? My attitude has been changing, too, for the last few months. My sympathy is long gone and has been replace by disgust.

Maupin moved away from NC long before Clay was born...so...how would he know anything about Clay.

Apparently, he's never heard what happens to people who assume.

Also with the Maupin dude, how is it he chimes in 7 months later and didn't say anything before.

I think he's being an opportunist.

Clay Blogs: Get Ready for the ATDW Blitz, 2007 Tour

Clay blogged today on the fanclub to get us ready for the ATDW media blitz which will include TV/Radio appearances, magazine articles and several symphony concerts (not a full tour). However, Clay also seemed to indicate that there would be no tour until 2007 (he used the work 'soon'... we know what that word means, right??) -- so get ready for a new tour next Spring.

In addition, Clay confirmed that he wouldn't be appearing on Good Morning America September 1st. The spot opened up several weeks ago and rumours immediately began swirling about a 3rd Clay-GMA Appearance. But don't give up hope-- Clay also said he would like to visit GMA & "honourary Claymate" 'closer to the CD release date'.
