Truth Rules

A blog for fans of Clay Aiken. It may take a while but in the end, truth will win out over lies. Keep it clean, no threats ... and if I don't like what you say I own the delete key.

Parallels

Last night I watched the debates on ABC. I normally steer clear of mentioning politics so all I'm doing this time is calling attention to a parallel I saw between Barack Obama and Clay Aiken last night.

I've watched various hate groups have a go at Clay over the past few years and wondered why. Last night, the Republican candidates had a go at Barack Obama. Last night, Hillary Clinton had a go at Barack Obama. Why? Because he won in Iowa. As John Edwards said, there were no attacks on Obama until he won.

Clay came out winning after AI2 even though he finished in second place. His sales beat out both Kelly Clarkson and Ruben Studdard. So some of their more vengeful fans had a go at Clay.

Clay went to Mexico for UNICEF and helped them to raise over $100,000.00 at a time of year when money is scarce. So it was time for the green eyed monsters to attack once more. He debuts on Broadway on the 18th in Spamalot so one of the gossip bloggers, who I refuse to name, has to start up again with the negative comments. Another nameless blogger has to not only attack Clay but attacks his fans too.

Every single time Clay does something good, there are vengeful jealous types that have to come out attacking. Envy Green is not a good color to be wearing.

I heard Michelle Obama's speech was a good one. Too bad I missed it.

Truth - great blog! I meant to also post on the previous one so I'll say.....two great blogs!

I did see Michelle Obama's speech and it was sooooo good; I hope they repeat it or have it on a video somewhere.

There are so many parallels! RCA is DC with their dirty politics, Clay and Obama were 2 individuals doing about their lives and doing the right things. America likes that because they are one of us. The haters don't like it at all because they aren't one of us - Mom and apple pie vs the Devil and thorn soup.

I love the observation you made. It was very astute. When someone has won a competition, it seems like there is a new target placed on their back. To some extent, it is to be expected and can be combatted when the attack is levied on a fair and balanced playing field. However when the attack is dirty and involves lies and manipulations, there is a high price to be paid. Injuries are incurred, lives damaged, and the truth becomes hidden to all but those who are truly interested in the truth. To the casual observer, who is too lazy to take the facts and decide for themselves and who insists on taking another person's unverified word about the situation, the lies, manipulations, and illusions become truth for them. How sad. These ruthless attacks have been done to many, many good people, including Clay. Only the strong, intelligent, and patient survive this kind of attack. They must be surrounded by good people, family, and friends. It takes an incredibly strong person to survive the attacks and an amazing human being to prosper, despite them. One good thing going for those attacked by the lies, innuendo and verbal manipulations is the truth. And as your screen name indicates, TRUTH RULES.

I hate election years, in that I see more lies, innuendo, manipulations, and hate flung than at any other time in a leader's term of office. Mark Twain once said (referring to newspapers but I believe it can be applied to television as well), "If you DO NOT read the newspapers, you are uninformed. If you DO read the newspapers, you are misinformed." It's amazing how accurate his statement is, even though it was written in his era.

All the hate and mudslinging is more or less expected in politics, but I cannot comprehend why anybody would want to viciously attack a pop singer.
