I think we all know that if you want to get at the truth you have to bring all the back channel talk out into the open. You have to allow people to talk about what's really going on instead of shutting them up. You can't stop lies by turning your back on them and refusing to acknowledge they exist and slapping down anyone who dares to call them a lie. When you know that xxx is lying and spreading false stories you need to be able to say xxx is doing this instead of being shushed. That lets xxx get away with the lies and false stories.

The liars take advantage of this darkness that not being allowed to discuss what they do allows. And they're running scared because now there is a place where light shines on them. Where people are allowed to talk. Where you can call a sewer rat a sewer rat.

The liars are trying their damnedest to smear this place and the person who provided a board where light shines. They want to convince everyone it's evil. Don't be fooled by them.

If you think that having an open, unmoderated board where the only requirement is respect is a bad thing, where your allowed to voice your concerns about lies and false accusations, where your allowed to complain about what you see as an injustice, then yes, Chexxxy is guilty. So are the rest of us who believe that truth flourishes in daylight and lies flourish in darkness.

Now I know they're big but who would have thought they were big enough to grab headlines.

As first reported by the staff at Tulsa World

"Apparently, a former "American Idol" contestant was asleep in his seat and a woman roused him to get him to move his foot, Johnson confirmed. An argument then followed."

but then later the "Tulsa World Staff" went back and removed that paragraph. Why? Isn't beating up on a sleeping passenger juicy enough? Yeah, it sounds so much better to make it look like Clay Aiken was responsible for the altercation. Of course all 156 news articles picked up the edited version that doesn't include the fact the guy was asleep when the woman started attacking him. Too bad there are eye-witness accounts with signed FBI statements attesting to the fact that a woman attacked a sleeping passenger.

Eye witness account:

"An eye witness told us exactly what happened and he was asleep…he’s a tall guy and his foot accidentally touched her armrest…He didnt even hear her talking to him until she began screaming at him, at which point he pulled up his visor and she started swinging… she hit him 3 or 4 times and being the gentleman that he is he did not swing back……He was not hurt……but man was he pissed……one of our other Oklahoma fans was sitting across the aisle from him and was a also an eye witness to this woman’s personal attack . "

With journalism like this it makes it very difficult to know what is truth and what is not. But then it's not the first time the public has been lied to. Weapons of Mass Destruction anyone? Y'all remember that, right?

Anyhow, Clay was on stage in Tulsa Saturday night joking about getting "beat up".

Clay Nation - the silent majority speaks out

There's a rule on all the Clay Aiken message boards about not discussing other boards or posters. What this has done is allow those with nefarious intentions to get away with spreading lies about Clay in safety because no one can call them out and there has been no where any of us who care about him could gather and share what we knew about these people.

All that changed when Chexxxy started her board. You bet your ass we know who these liars and gossip mongers are. And you know what? They are scared silly now. So they are trying their damnedest to shift the focus onto Chexxxy to save their own hides.

Guess what - it is not going to work. The only rule at Chexxxy's is you damn well better respect Clay Aiken. Simple. You don't respect him, your out. You call him a liar, your out. That's what all these detractors have in common. And that's why they are so pissed off at Chexxxy. She will not tolerate their antics. If feeling the same way makes me a follower tough. Get used to it, because the silent majority is tired of being silent, tired of the disrespect towards Clay and tired of the lies being spread around by a certain few. And yes, you can bet your ass we know who you are.

Clay Aiken and the tabloid press

The tabloids have gone and done it again. Took a kernel of truth and created a fictionalized story around it.

Truth: There have been disagreements on the Clay Aiken fan club message board but not over what the NY Post reported.

You see, the fan club message board is PG-13. Twice in the past few weeks a moderator posted links to tabloid/gossip sites which is against the TOU (Terms of Use). She broke the rules everyone else is supposed to abide by. Now, if you've been to some of these sites you know a lot of the comments are nasty and vulgar. Not the place to be sending minors. The TOU specifically state no gossip is to be posted. So yes, quite a number of members were understandably disturbed and said so. The arguments had nothing to do with orientation. It was all about gossip and breaking the TOU.

Truth: The Clay Aiken fan club message board was shut down over the weekend but it's back up.

Truth: Someone with an agenda contacted the tabloids/gossip columns and put their own twist on what happened. The NY Post ran with it without checking facts - and the rest of the gossip mongers followed suit.

Clay Aiken & David Foster

There were quite a few mentions in the Canadian press this past week about Clay being in Canada with David Foster. If your wondering what kind of music these two could make together take a listen to this Lover All Alone set to a montage of Grey's Anatomy. David Foster wrote the music. Clay Aiken wrote the lyrics.

If your not a Grey's Anatomy fan, there are lots of other montages on YouTube that were made using this song where you can listen.

Sadly, this song is only available as a bonus when you download Clay's A Thousand Different Ways album from iTunes.

It sucks to like them both!

On the season 6 American Idol final Clive Davis gave his "report card" speech leading up to presenting Carrie Underwood with a 6x platinum plaque. In the process he managed to insult Taylor Hicks, Katherine McPhee, Clay Aiken, Kelly Clarkson and Ruben Studdard.

First he pimped Daughtry over Taylor and Kat, the winner and runner up. Ouch!

Then he forgets that he forced a covers album on Clay with this statement:
"Now contrary to popular belief, that's really what album sales are all about - new hit songs." Guess that explains why Clay's last album sales weren't quite what we expected to see.

He gets a dig in at both Clay and Kelly with this comment:
"then those professional songwriters, this time from Nashville, wrote truly great songs". Clay because he had new songs by Nashville writers that Clive didn't think were good enough and Kelly because she's written all the songs on her new album.

It almost comes across as a dig at Carrie because while he says she's a wonderful talent, it's the songwriters he's giving all the credit to.

Finally Ruben. Not even mentioned. Hello - he was one of the winners.

Now I'll tell you why it sucks to like both Clay and Kelly. I've watched a few very vocal Kelly fans bash Clay for quite some time. They've used the likes of Perez Hilton as a source for their negative Clay comments. Now that Hilton has turned on Kelly, he's suddenly nothing more than a sleazy gossip monger whose word can't be taken seriously. The shoe is now on the other foot and the Kelly fans aren't liking it one bit. They got all over Clay for the covers album Clive mandated and trashed it and him on every Internet site they could find. They have ignored the fact that the first single wasn't released till the day the album dropped or that there was minimal promotion done for the album. I won't even get into the BS about why Clay and Kelly's singles have not done well because I'll just get myself angry.

I now see some vocal Clay fans spinning this Kelly/Clive dispute about her new album into nothing more than a pr stunt. No way could Kelly be facing problems with her album like Clay did with his. Bull!!! Just because it got out into the public doesn't mean it's not a real dispute. And since it is out in the public that her pr team won't take advantage of that fact. If you look at the photos of Kelly from back in January when she was in NY meeting with the label you can see she's not happy. The girl busted her butt to get the album finished for a February release and Clive sat on it.

The same vocal Kelly fans are spinning this whole dispute to make subtle insinuations that Kelly is better than Clay because she stood up to the label and Clay didn't. Never mind that they are two different personalities and while Clay keeps things close to the chest Kelly is the more outgoing and verbal one.

It sucks too that you cannot mention Clay on a Kelly message board or Kelly on a Clay message board without fueling the flames of fan wars. Sometimes it would be nice to just have an honest intelligent discussion about both of them.

... I will not put through any comments that bash either one.

Clay Aiken - an Idol Who Gives Back

March 2007 - Champions of Change

Clay Aiken said on the American Idol Season 2 show that it didn't make a difference how he did it but that he wanted to make sure he used his celebrity to make a difference. Quietly and without a lot of fanfare, Clay Aiken has kept his word.

Ever since the end of the Season 2 show, he has used his days off from touring to make appearances at children's camps, schools and hospitals.

While on tour with the AI2 idols, he finished up his degree in Special Education and started his own charity, The Bubel/Aiken Foundation. Currently the BAF is working with State Farm Insurance to help develop a primary education curriculum focused on teaching social and life skills through service to children of all levels of ability.

He has donated his time and voice to appear on stage with Heather Headley for the benefit Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS in May of 2004 and for the 2004 Rosalynn Carter Benefit and the America's Promise Benefit.

He served as a spokesperson for the 2004 Toys for Tots drive.

He became an Ambassador for Ronald McDonald House Charities and donated a set of his hand prints for their World Children’s Day™ auction in Nov. 2004.

He was appointed a United States Fund for UNICEF National Ambassador making trips to Banda Aceh after the tsunami and Uganda. After returning from Banda Aceh he testified on behalf of UNICEF before the Subcommittee on Foreign Operations, Export Financing and Related Programs of the Committee on Appropriations, United States House of Representatives. He served as UNICEF's national spokesperson for the 55th annual Trick-or-Treat for UNICEF campaign in 2005. In 2006 he participated in the UNICEF Snowflake Lighting Ceremony and has filmed PSAs for the organization. A third UNICEF trip is planned for this year.

In 2006 he was appointed to the Presidents Committee for People with Intellectual Disabilities.

The BAF arranged to publish the book "Our Friend Mikayla" written by third grade classmates of Mikayla, a special needs child. During a tour stop last Christmas, Clay read the book to the students at their school then sent the authors back to their class in limousines.

There are stories, too numerous to mention, on the various Clay fan boards of just how much this man has given back.

Clay Aiken quietly does what he said he would do. Give back.

Yesterday it was reported that in Morrisville NC, two teenagers are facing cyberstalking charges for creating fake profiles on My Space of their assistant principles, portraying one of them as a pedophile.

Impersonating someone else by creating fake profiles, whether it be on My Space or another Internet site, is no laughing matter. When it's done with malicious intent the law will catch up with you.

What saved his life this time? Penicillin.

The name of the nobleman? Lord Randolph Churchill. His son's name?

Clay Aiken: Allegations made against him a cruel hoax

This past weekend, on his personal blog, John Paulus admitted that he lied and the whole story about his meeting with Clay was a hoax. For his part in the hoax, he said he was guaranteed a meeting with Michael Lucas (porn films) and his bills would be paid for a year.

Me thinks my friend was right when in response to my musings she said "Oh, I'm POSITIVE that Clay knew it would be "SHARED" among the asswipes and Queens of Mean. He was counting on the idiots to prove that they ARE idiots and would, in turn, share without thinking. Clay let them "out" themselves as liars for all to read. He's such a clever hunk."

Always and Forever

Four years ago today a young man from Raleigh, NC walked into our living rooms and opened his mouth to sing these words:

"Take time to tell me you really care"

Little did he know that four years later thousands and thousands of us would be doing just that. Taking time to tell him we really do care - about him.

"and we'll share tomorrow together"

Nor could he know then that we would be sharing our tomorrows with him. Going to his concerts, waiting on lines for tickets to his TV appearances, writing our good wishes for him and to him on message boards, applauding his humanitarian efforts, supporting his charity, laughing at his snarky sense of humor, watching him grow from geeky boy to sexy man, all the while mesmerized by that voice of his that sounds like no other.

"I'll always Love You...Forever"

Little did he know how prophetic these words would be. Or how many of us would be saying that to him.

Yes Clay, those of us who know who you really are do love you. And I think you've finally realized that we are going to continue sharing our tomorrows with you for a very long time.

2006 in review

I'd been tossing around the idea of doing a blog about the year in review for 2006. When someone else does a better job than I could, I'm not adverse to saying so. So props to Shadylil. You have to go read her Clay Aiken: 2006...The Year in Review blog.

And count me in as one of the "We". Two of the most important words in the English language are "Thank you", whether they are spoken or signed. Clay knows this. And he tells us every chance he gets.

I'm looking forward to 2007 and more thank yous, both to him and from him.

Rumors are flying that Kelly Ripa's unprofessional on-air rant about Clay Aiken is going to bite her in the butt. It seems that she's upset with the lack of support she's received over her childish, mean spirited tirade that Monday morning following Aiken's co-hosting stint. She's upset that her phone call to Rosie O'Donnell didn't get her their thanks for bringing what should have been a 30 second "oops" to national attention. Now she's pouting and threatening to leave the show.

All I have to say is bye bye.

It sure is.

A raging snow storm in the mid-west. A birthday celebration cut short to catch an early flight. A missed note in the last song on the first night. No rehearsals. A different symphony orchestra every night. None of that keeps Clay Aiken down. All is truly well, and Clay is proving that night after night. The audiences are loving him and those of us who can't attend one of his shows this year are loving the chance to watch some of the video that is being shared.

Tyra Banks: One Classy Lady

After watching Monday's (Nov. 20) triade against Clay Aiken by the Ripa-Crit, how refreshing to watch a host demonstrate how a show should be done. Trya is one classy lady and treats every one of her guests with respect, even the ones I've seen be downright venomous towards her.

If you watched her interview with Clay on November 22nd you heard him tell her he had cleared her set of nuts because of his allergy. Now she could have gone all divaish and had a hissy fit but she didn't. She turned his allergies into a comic routine that had everyone laughing. Trya - you go girl.

On the subject of where Clay's hands have been, one fan had this to say.

In response to Kelly Ripa’s comments that she doesn’t know where Clay’s Hand has been, I may be able to address that issue and hopefully eliminate any of her fears. You see, I am a student of that Hand. I’ve made it my point to learn where it has been in the past, where it may be at any given time of the day, month or year and to speculate where it may be going from this point forward. No, I am not a stalker; just a fan.

I have learned that from the time Clay was a baby, that Hand (like the Hands of most children) has been held firmly by his mother. I am sure there were times as a youngster when he may have felt he was giving her as much in comfort as she was in guiding him since a single mother often only has the touch of her child to remind her of love. From early on, the Hand was reminded to join with the other Hand as he knelt in prayer. Faith is an important part of the Hand’s life, you see.

The young adult Hand didn’t go many of the places the Hands of many of the places adolescents seem to go these days. It wasn’t seen rolling a doobie, drinking with friends, hanging with a gang or falling prey to unfortunate peer pressure. Rather, it was living a good life in a relatively small town where it learned the importance of family, education and service, most often at the YMCA where he worked and volunteered. At that time, the Hand was introduced to the Hands of a young man whose disabilities would lead Clay to an important goal in his life, working to insure educational and societal opportunities for children who otherwise would be misunderstood or lost along the way. Decency and Service are also dominant factors in the life of the Hand.

From that point on, the life of the Hand seemed to take on a life of its own. Once the beauty and the voice of the man were exposed to an audience much larger than the one in his hometown, it didn’t take long for the Hand of the son, student and community leader to realize that he had been given a special gift from God. The Hand has been wrapped around a microphone in recording studios and concerts to entertain and bring joy into the lives of his fans. The Hand has been seen making a sweeping gesture at those times to bring to the forefront back-up singers, band members and even members of his audience. Sharing; yes, that is another element of the Hand’s existence.

But this is not an ordinary Hand. Having accomplished fame for his talents was not enough. Now, the Hand was put to Clay’s purposes in life, the first of which being the establishment of TBAF to raise awareness for children with educational disadvantages and to promote inclusion of them in areas of life most of us take or granted. The Hand was seen at countless telethons and fundraisers for charities other than his own. It went to Capitol Hill a couple of times to speak before our nation’s leaders about the importance of medical research for a cure for autism and the enactment of laws to protect the rights of children who are disabled to the same quality educations as those without disabilities. Whenever there was a time of disaster, you could count on the Hand to be there to assist as a UNICEF ambassador to analyze report on the devastation of a village in Banda Aceh as the result of a tsunami or the needs of a child in Uganda left homeless, hungry and in peril due to the ravages of war. Service takes a major role in the life of the Hand.

So you really don’t need to worry about where the Hand has been. It has been and no doubt will continue to go wherever a good Hand is needed. Even at its early age, it has gone places and accomplished deeds that boggle the mind of this older woman. I have little doubt the Hand will travel to many more places during its lifetime, to entertain, to teach, to observe and to promote. The Hand is placed firmly in the Hand of a greater being. It seldom makes a decision without first going there for advice and guidance. That comforts me, as it should Ms. Ripa. It gives me no reason to worry about where the Hand has been but much to anticipate as to where it is going. .... Cincy15

Last night, in New York City, the UNICEF Snowflake, designed by Ingo Maurer with 16,000 Baccarat crystal prisms, was lit by Clay.

Clay's fan message boards are filled with photos and first hand accounts of the lighting ceremony. One of the sweetest photos I saw was of Clay holding up this little girl and showing her the snowflake.

One of the attendees got to speak with a UNICEF representative that was there. Here are her words:

In closing, what this nice gentleman said tonight about Clay made my whole year, I never ever doubted Clay about anything and this man has just proved to me what I knew all along."

NOTE: IT stands for Information Technology. It's the current designation for those working in computer departments. The IT people are the ones who know everything that is happening in their offices. They have to be kept in the loop in order to do their jobs properly.

First off, thanks to my friend (who knows who they are) for reminding me of how the National Enquirer gets stories. It ain't pretty, but very informative.

Alan Butterfield is a reporter for the National Enquirer - yes, the supermarket tabloid - and is the one who "broke" the gay sex-ring story about Ed Smart and several of his brothers. (Ed Smart is the devoutly Mormon father of kidnap victim Elizabeth Smart.) The story was based on information obtained from unnamed sources. Later it became known that some unnamed sources were paid $10,000 each. In the end, the information proved to be false and two reporters, Kevin Cantera and Michael Vigh of The Salt Lake Tribune, were fired due to their involvement in the fiasco."

When I hear that $10,000.00 has been offered to any man who will come forward with a story about a gay encounter with a celebrity it does make me suspect the motives of those making the offer along with the veracity of what ever gets printed. When you add in the fact that the offer was made on a hate blog it becomes even more suspect.

Paying for bogus stories is not ethical journalism.

The authorities just busted a gay male prostitution ring being run out of Ft. Bragg, NC.

Is escort another word for prostitution? You decide.

classics: Belonging to the highest rank or class. Serving as the established model or standard.

standards: level of quality or excellence, especially a song or other piece of music that is very popular.

covers: commonly used to mean any recording of a song previously recorded by another artist.

Then again, it probably depends on who is doing the singing.

Rod Stewart releases an album of great classics.

Aaron Neville biggest selling new album is soul classics.

Paul McCartney performs all time classics.

Van Morrison has a classic album of old standards.

Bruce Springsteen does a collection of folk standards.

Christina Aguilera's Back to Basics is a modern take on vintage 20's, 30's & 40's

Clay Aiken sings covers on his new album. Covers when done by any other artist are called classics and standards.

Something stinks here, and it isn't Clay's music.
